Utila Divesites

Utila Island has many great divesites. Many of the divesite names are self explanatory: The Aquarium, The Maze, The Pinnacle, Black Coral Wall, Stingray Point, Halliburton Wreck, Airport Caves. There are currently 39 mooring buoys to prevent the need to drop anchor when arriving at a divesite. The first 24 buoys were installed in 1993 - 94 by the Bay Islands Conversation Association, since then the project has been taken over by the Utila Dive Supporters. A portion of the $3.00 reef tax goes to maintain the buoys.
